The intensive silk production process
Silk comes from the silkworm, which takes about 5 days to spin a cocoon with silk thread. Only the best silk cocoons are used - selected by size and colour - and soaked in hot water. This dissolves the binding agent between the silk threads and allows for the thread to be unrolled from the cocoon.
The cocoons are unravelled by hand, to break as few threads as possible, which extends the life span of your silk pillowcase or duvet cover. Cleaning the silk is a natural process, without the addition of chemicals.
